Meet our founder

"When I buy art, I always look for a personal note or something to connect me with the artist. I always approach artists before I buy their work to ask what their intention was behind the artwork so I can bring that energy / spirit into my home.

Sentimental energy is something I have always connected with. This piece of art, piece of love, will be on my wall forever - I want its story to enrich my life. That's why I have created intention cards, and my words are all from my heart. I want you too to be able to connect with the energy and spirit that is held within the art.

The home is a sacred place, and whatever we put in it influences our life. So we need to make sure everything in our space has meaning and can be a constant reminder of what is important to us.

I want people to be moved by the way a piece of art speaks to them. I want them to be present to what they are feeling when they invest in a piece of art, present to why they chose it in the first place, and all the feelings that they discover in-between.

This is why I created Studio Sonnenberg. To help my customers enrich their lives and find what it is they are searching for. I hope my art gives you - what you’re looking for, knowing that everything you need is already inside of you.

We are all connected. Energy lives in everything."

Meet Jess, founder of Studio Sonnenberg. A South African-born hippie who would do anything to live in a caravan and not brush her hair. You will find her barefoot, cross-legged, meditating, laughing, and marvelling at how human beings create things by hand.

Jess is a self-taught collage artist and designer based in Naarm, Melbourne, Australia. She is a dreamer, a lover, of creating unique worlds for her viewers to inhabit, and experiences which will help them understand the world and their place in it. Her work is a visual representation of her mind, heart and spirit.
